Discovered by Arthur R. Sieting in 1947 or 1948 while working his field. He heard the cultivator blades strike metal. Upon locating the object it turned out to be heavier than suspected. His brother-in-law saw the object and took it to MSU. In 1964 Mr. Sieting donated it to the Abrams Planetarium’s collection.
