Changxing (Island).

Two stones, 21.4 and 6.5 kg, fell on October 17, 1964 on Changxing Island, Shanghai. At 10:50 am Gu Ya Xin while tending cows in a shed, heard an increasing loud noise ending with an explosion and accompanied by a bright fireball. Within several meters of where Gu was standing something fell into the marshy soil and ejected more than a 5-meter fountain of mud and water. Gu observed additional impacts into the Yangtze River. Today this meteorite fall site is about 200 meters north of Changxing Island inside the Yangtze River and is under water due to erosion. The 21.4 kg specimen resides in the Natural History Museum in Shanghai.
